I thought I would spend my Saturday off attempting to transfer a full drupal site from one remote server to another.

My plan is download the entire contents of the website directory. Then use phpmyadmin to download a backup of the database table. modify the config file to reflect the new server details. Finally creating a new database on the new server and uploading my backup to create the tables and fill them with the website data.

Fingers crossed all goes and I’ll report back on how it all went
